Name: Oz Bezarius
Gender: Male
Age: 15 ( Despite it being ten years in the future when Oz comes out of Abyss, since he didn’t experience the time, he stays fifteen. He is supposed to be twenty-five, but that was Oscar’s excuse to get out of giving alcohol to an underage person. )
Description:
- - Hair Color : Blond.
- - Eye Color : Emerald.
- - Body Build : The body of a fifteen-year-old child. He doesn't have muscle and is rather skinny. He is 162 cms ( 5'3" ) in height.
- - Complexion : He is fair skinned. ( He also has a black clock on the left side of his chest, signifying that he is an illegal contractor. )
Apparel:
- - Normal : On a daily basis, Oz will wear a white, long sleeved shirt with a black vest with gold trim. The buttons on the vest, as well as the buttons on the white shirt, are gold. Along with the top part of his apparel, he wears green, plaid shorts that go down to his knees. He wears shin-high, black socks that are visible at the very top while the rest are covered with brown boots that have two silver buckles latched tight on each leg. A red tie also goes with the outfit.
- - Formal : When being formal, Oz wears a typical tuxedo and dresses up nicely, such as going to audiences for Duke Barma. That’s normally just a black and white tuxedo with nothing special but a bow. The white shirt also drapes down just a bit below the long-tailed tuxedo.
- - Other : Another outfit he wore was his outfit that he was dropped into Abyss in. His Coming of Age ceremony outfit is a white tuxedo, tailored for him, with a red clothe underneath it lined with gold. He never has to wear it again, so it’s not seen around. Even if he were to wear it, it’d have to be fixed, as it became tattered and soaked while in the depths of Abyss.
Skills/Weapons:
- - B-Rabbit : Although it is shown to effect Oz's health, handling B-Rabbit's power has become a skill to Oz. Not only did Jack tell Oz that he had the power to stop Alice whenever he pleased, saying it was a right, but he was also granted the power of just using her chains when she wasn't around to use her own power. This allowed him to use those powers without Raven being used to unseal them. The same thing happened while in Sabrie when it was shown Oz holding B-Rabbit's scythe while Alice was off visiting a piece of Jack's memory. Every time he uses that power, though, the seal is threatened with moving, which leads him closer to being dragged to the Abyss with Alice.
- - Guns : When given a gun, Oz proves that he is able to fire the gun with efficient aim when putting his mind to it. Though he isn't as skilled as Gilbert, he is able to fire it after taking a few seconds to aim precisely at the target. He uses both hands to fire the gun rather than just one, unlike Gilbert.
- - Swords : It's shown that Oz is able to handle a sword when trying to protect Gilbert during the Coming of Age ceremony. Though he isn't an expert swordsman, he knows the basic things he needs to know in getting by with fighting if the time calls for it.
- - Words : Despite his age, he has always had a way with words. Depending on how he uses them, he can make things go in favor of his group or just himself alone. He can whisper into somebody's ear and knock down their self-esteem or courage to play to his advantage. ( Though we aren't aware of what he says when he does this, it's quite obvious that it must be strong words, as it's able to scare an adult. ) Along with that, he can use his words to build strength behind a point he needs to make. An example would be with Duke Barma, telling him he would use the name of Jack Bezarius, who resides in his body as a spirit, that he'd protect Break.
- - Misc : Some other skills Oz has are painting, singing, reciting poetry, playing the violin and piano, dancing, studying, horseback riding, and arithmetic. Basically anything he needs to learn while being the heir to the Bezarius household.
Personality: Oz’s personality can change, depending on the situation that surrounds him or the group. Oz generally puts a smile on, being a cheery kid who tries to look on the bright side after a troubled past. Even if he does smile, he can’t consider all of them to be truly sincere. Just like Eliot, Oz has a sense of justice, but handles it in a more heart-warming way. Instead of yelling to get his point across, he tries to use his words in consoling someone of their problems. But Oz isn’t always cute and fun-loving. Instead, he can have a mischievous side to him, countering some of Break’s jokes while teasing Gilbert at the same time. He is also portrayed as a romantic, this showing when he first meets Sharon, as most Bezarius are. In general, he’s easy going and accepts things as they come, which is how you can explain the different personalities he can pull off during the right situation.
- - Likes : Girls ( who are generally younger than him ), sweets, and tea.
- - Dislikes : Nothing in particular. ( Though he shows a strong dislike when people tell him spoilers, as shown when Eliot spoils the ending for Edgar, his favorite character, in " Holy Knight. " )
History: Oz’s past isn’t exactly rainbows and butterflies. Having been born into the Bezarius house as the first born son, as well as the eldest child, he became the rightful heir to the Bezarius household. This didn’t set well with his father, regardless, and his mother was assassinated ( presumably by the Nightray house ) sometime after Ada was born. Oz had never been one to go out much unless it was to play with his little sister. Generally, he stayed inside and red books, his favorite series being Holy Knight.
Oscar ended up bringing home a boy that he had found hurt, adopting him as a servant to the Bezarius house and giving him the duties of being Oz’s servant. Since the servant ( who knew his name as Gilbert ) didn’t have any of his memories, Oz declared him to be one year younger than him since Oz was the master and Gilbert was the servant. This lead to them becoming friends and enjoying each other’s company, along with Ada, and traveling as a group of three whenever Oz avoided Kate.
At this point in time, Gilbert had become a teasing target for Oz, but he always meant it on good terms.
His father never liked him, telling him that he was filthy and it would’ve been better off if he had never been born. This leads to Oz’s depressed nature as a young child ( and partially when he’s reminded of his father and past after being released from Abyss after he escapes. ) Gilbert had always defended him, causing their friendship to grow to the point that Oz asked Gilbert to attend the Coming of Age ceremony and put the robe on him when he said his oath in front of the clock.
Before the ceremony ( that was being held in a rented place, which is assumed to be the Baskerivlle’s old living quarters ), Gilbert and Oz found a gravesite with a pocket watch wrapped around it. The gravesite belonged to Lacie, but the engraving is too eroded to read any longer, so they are unsure of who’s it is. After Oz opens the pocket watch and hears the tune, he’s taken into a daydream with a man explaining things to him about what is to come and what it all means. Though he doesn’t explain thoroughly, it’s enough to get Oz slightly prepared, if not completely. ( It soon is come to be known that the man was Jack Bezarius. )
During the Coming of Age ceremony, the Baskervilles appear after Oz says the oath to the clock that is supposed to stand still until the child of prophecy stands before it, this child being Oz. While Gilbert sees who it is who is leading the Baskervilles, Oz picks up a sword to protect Gilbert, who gets in the way as Oz slashes at them, believing to have killed his one and only best friend ( who had started to make Oz believe in “ forever. ” ) Not long after, Oz is sent into the Abyss by a Baskerville who controls a huge, bird like chain that is revealed as “ Griffin ”, who belongs to the Bezarius household.
He later comes across a chain named B-Rabbit who gives her real name, Alice, to Oz and makes a contract with her. Allowing Alice to use his body, they escape from Abyss and plan on finding Alice’s lost memories that had been scattered across the area.
RP Sample: Days had always been beautiful in Oz’s eyes. Sunlight playing along his fair skin, birds chirping outside while he laughed, all the flowers in bloom as he picked one to smell. He enjoyed every single day, especially when he could spend them with Gil and Alice, as well as Break and Sharon. Nothing could get the boy down, and if something managed to bypass that thought, he was always able to recover quickly as to keep the mood high for everyone else.
Why bring others down with you when you could at least keep your friends happy?
Today was a different day, though. Rain was pouring down from the sky, emerald oculars peering outside into the dreary landscape that wouldn’t let him go outside and enjoy the fresh air. It wasn’t like Oz couldn’t enjoy himself inside, either, but he would rather be out and running around while enjoying himself. “Is it going to rain all day?” he questioned, loud enough for anyone to hear him as he turned to look over at the others. Nobody seemed to respond to him, causing him to tilt his head to the side. Perhaps they were just busy or didn’t hear him.
“Alice? Gil?” Standing up, he walked over in the direction they were in, his hands slipping behind his back as he swung his legs with each step, a playful look to it as he blinked again, a curious look being placed on his face. “Are you two ignoring me?” He asked, frowning a bit. Still no response. Oz wasn’t about to give up, a slight smile appearing on his face as he gave a bright look. “Alright! I guess I’ll just go and play outside! Hopefully I don’t get a bad illness!” He spoke, louder than normal, only to turn and quickly prance out of the room in a cheery way, almost as if he were about to do it.
Leaning against the side of the door, he smiled, waiting for one of the two to chase after him: most likely Gil, if he was worried enough that Oz would get sick. He’d never been one to wait for them respond on his own time when he wanted to talk to either one of them.
If not, at least I tried, and sorry for butchering anything at all.
